Coal India’s CSR Expenditure Rises 37 per cent in April-January

State-owned Coal India Ltd (CIL) increased its corporate social responsibility (CSR) spending by 36.5 per cent to Rs 4.97 billion in April-January of the current financial year, up from Rs 3.64 billion in the previous year. Over 70 per cent  of its CSR funds support healthcare, nutrition, sanitation, education, and livelihood initiatives. As the highest CSR spender among CPSEs for five years, CIL allocated Rs 5.72 million last fiscal year alone.
