Rise in demand of Bangladeshi cement in India

Since 2017 until the first week of January this year, Bangladesh has reportedly exported 9,325 metric tonne of cement to Indian states of Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya. As per reports, cement worth US$ 78,683,985 were exported to India in FY2014-15; US$ 677,980,984 in FY2016-17; US$ 790,561,873 in FY2017-18; and US$ 466,088,356 in FY2018-19, according to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau. Further, cement export to India is hoped to increase in FY2019-20 as well. The demand for cement has witnessed a surge owing to its world-class quality.
