NL Sharma, CMD SJVN, virtually inaugurated the second unit of the 1,320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Plant. The foundation stone of the Power Plant was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2019. Sharma notified that the progress of the project is being continuously observed by RK Singh, Union Minister for Power & NRE. The project comprises two units and over 50 per cent of the works associated with the first unit has already been developed. The plant includes an investment of about Rs.110 bn and on launching, it will produce 9,828 million units of electricity.
