Power Minister lays foundation stone for Powergrid's Ara substation

According to an official statement, Union Power Minister RK Singh laid the groundwork for Powergrid's substation in Bihar to increase capacity.

"The augmentation of the 220/132 kV Ara substation will increase the substation's total transformation capacity to 560 MVA." The scheme would help Ara (Bihar) meet its electricity demand for the next ten years. "Uninterrupted power supply will lead to industrial and commercial development in the area, as well as improved power availability in the districts of Bhojpur, Buxar, and Rohtas," Powergrid said in a statement. K Sreekant, Chairman and Managing Director of Powergrid, and VK Singh, Director of Personnel, were also in attendance.

Power Grid Corporation of India is the country's largest power transmission utility.
