OREDA floats tenders for 1 MW rooftop solar systems

The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has floated tenders from engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors for the design, engineering, supply, installation, and launching of 1 MW of rooftop solar systems and 1,000 solar street lights at 50 Odisha Aadarsha Vidyalaya premises across ten districts.

The successful bidder will additionally have to take care of maintenance work for five years.

Odisha Aadarsha Vidyalaya is a chain of schools planned to be established at each of the 314 block headquarters. These Adarsha Vidyalayas are completely day boarding schools rendering free education from Class VI to Class XII. The schools are administered via Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan.

All of the 50 grid-connected rooftop solar systems should be 20 kW in capacity with a net metering facility and 50% battery backup. In each school, 20 solar streetlights need to be set up.

The deadline to present the proposals online is January 19, 2022. Bids will be opened on January 21.

The project’s estimated price is Rs 148.55 million. The successful bidder will provide Rs 1.49 million as a bid security deposit.

The bid is open to general category bidders and bidders who are local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and listed under the MSME Development Act, 2006 in Odisha.

Bidders should have valid test certificates of inverters, solar modules, batteries, and street lighting systems from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Bureau of Indian Standards authorised test laboratories.

They must have set up high quality, environmental management systems, and information security standards and have ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications for the solar photovoltaic modules, inverters, batteries, and street lighting systems.

For Category A, bidders must have the experience of setting up and launching rooftop solar systems in at least 100 schools recognised by the Odisha government during the past five years.

They must have a good track record of maintaining solar power facilities set up in Odisha for five years. They should have correctly maintained the solar systems set up in the above 100 schools. The average functionality rate as of the deadline of submission of the proposals should be over 90%.
