One-Moto inks pact with Telangana for setting up production unit

UK-based electric vehicle maker One-Moto has inked an MoU with the Telangana government for installing its India production unit.

The new plant will be slated at the outskirts of Hyderabad since it seems to be the fundamental market for EVs, with the state government enhancing the EV revolution with supporting policies for EV production and robust infrastructure too. The brand aims to pump in about Rs 250 crore to set up the production unit.

One-Moto plans to generate 40,000 units yearly in the first phase and create 500 direct and 2,000 indirect jobs in the area.

The new production facility will have significant automation integration with additional semi- robotics and the latest manufacturing machinery to create cutting edge products. The facility will be spread across 15 acres of area.

Recently, One Moto rolled out its new e-scooter Electa at the EV India expo in Greater Noida. After the brand launch in India in November last year, the brand has already got three e-scooters for Indian customers- Electa, Commuta and Byka. All the e-Scooters are high-speed premium products exhibiting scintillating high-end quality and style.

The production facility will render all One-Moto fleet in addition to two Indian fleets that are to be introduced by Ellysium Automotives, presently boosting One Moto in India.

They are committed to providing Indian customers with quality products in EVs. The vision is to handle all the production in India and provide to the developing market. They strive to produce at least 40,000 units in the first phase of the facility launch, and capacity will easily be taken up to 100,000 in two years, Sameer Moidin, Co-Founder & Partner, One Moto India, told the media.
