Himachal Pradesh Invites Bids for a 5 MW Solar Power Project

The deadline for proposal submissions is June 21, 2023.

For the design, supply, building, installation, and commissioning of a 5 MW solar power project at Bhanial in the Una district, Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation (HPPCL) has issued an invitation for bids.

Additionally, the project must be run and maintained for eight years by the winning bidder. The bids must be submitted by June 21, 2023. The day of the opening of bids will be used. A deposit of 5.5 million (about $66,488) is required from each bidder.

The bidder must have completed one equivalent contract worth 282.5 million (about $997,318) in the ten years prior to the proposal submission date in order to qualify as a contractor, joint venture partner, or subcontractor. The project should have a minimum capacity of 1.5 MW.

An alternative would have been for bidders to complete two solar projects of a similar scale at £55 million ($664,879) each. Solar projects must have a minimum capacity of 1 MW each, or they must have completed three projects with a total cost of £27.5 million (about $332,439) apiece. Each solar installation must have a 500-kW minimum capacity.

Additionally, the bidders must have finished operating and maintaining a solar plant with a minimum capacity of 1.25 MW over the previous ten years.
