Adani Electricity showcases green energy via rooftop solar

Adani Electricity announced that they had installed a 100-kW rooftop solar plant coupled with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at their Borivali office. This innovative solution harnessed the power of the sun, thereby reducing reliance on the grid and contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

An official from Adani Electricity stated that the pioneering project showcased Adani Electricity's commitment to environmental responsibility. They highlighted key benefits including clean energy generation, extended power availability, and cost savings.

The official further explained that the BESS stored excess solar power during the day, making it available for use during evenings and nights. They elaborated that the system took advantage of Time-of-Day (TOD) tariffs by storing energy during off-peak hours and utilising it during peak hours when electricity costs were higher. Additionally, the BESS acted as a dependable backup source, ensuring uninterrupted operations in case of power outages.
