Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has urged the central government to designate the southern segment of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) as a National Highway (NH). The RRR is a critical infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and easing traffic congestion in and around Hyderabad.

The CM emphasised that granting NH status to the southern part of RRR would expedite its development and facilitate seamless transportation across the state. The RRR project is designed to connect various highways radiating from Hyderabad, enhancing connectivity between major cities and industrial corridors.

Currently, the northern segment of the RRR has already been designated as NH 163. Designating the southern segment as a National Highway would streamline administrative processes and attract investments necessary for its timely completion.

The RRR is pivotal for Telangana's infrastructure development, aimed at supporting economic growth, industrial expansion, and urban development in the region. Once fully operational, it is expected to reduce travel time, transportation costs, and promote regional connectivity, thereby benefiting trade and commerce across Telangana.

The Chief Minister's appeal underscores the state government's commitment to accelerating infrastructure projects crucial for socio-economic development. Granting NH status to the RRR's southern segment aligns with Telangana's vision of becoming a hub of industrial and economic activity in South India.
