Thyssenkrupp bags $155 mn contract for Numaligarh Refinery expansion

Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions India has secured a $155 million contract for Assam’s Numaligarh Refinery expansion project.

The company said that NRL awarded an EPC contract to execute the petroleum company's 6 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) of crude oil and vacuum distillation units with an amine treatment facility.

CEO and Managing Director of Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions, Rajesh Kamath, said that this project would foster the company's position in the Indian market as a major EPC player in refineries and petrochemicals business.

According to a report, the project work includes engineering, procuring, construction, management, supplying, supplying, inspecting, supervising, commissioning and mechanical completion.

NRL is expanding its capacity from 3 mmtpa to 9 mmtpa at an investment of Rs 22,594 crore, which includes 1,398 km of a crude oil pipeline from Odisha's Paradip Port to Numaligarh and 654 km product pipeline from Numaligarh to Siliguri in West Bengal.
