As part of Phase II of the grid-connected rooftop solar programme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation has issued an invitation for bids to appoint vendors to install 50 MW of residential rooftop solar projects that are connected to the grid.
Four categories have been opened up for bids. Category A rooftop solar capacity ranges from 1 kW to 3 kW. The B and C categories have capacities of more than 3 kW to 10 kW and 10 kW to 100 kW, respectively. Category D has a capacity range of 100 kW to 500 kW.
The deadline for bid submissions is March 14, 2023. The next day, the bids will be revealed.
A Rs 500,000 ($6,101) earnest money deposit is required from each bidder. Within 15 days of receiving the letter of award, the winning bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee of Rs 500,000 ($12,203) in the form of a demand draught or Rs 1 million ($12,203) as a bank guarantee.
The scope of work involves selecting beneficiaries and rooftops, as well as concluding contracts with customers at the expected cost that has been stated and received distribution company approval. Additionally, it comprises the capital expenditure model's design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems that are connected to the grid..
The last date of the project timetable set by MNRE to TSREDCO or six months after approval, whichever comes first, are the deadlines by which successful bidders must commission rooftop solar systems. After these projects are put into operation, they must offer thorough operation and maintenance services for a period of five years.
In Telangana throughout the last five years, bidders must have installed and commissioned grid-connected rooftop solar installations with a minimum capacity of 200 kW.
Any one of the previous five fiscal years should have had an average annual turnover of Rs 50 million ($610,161) for this company.
Micro, small, and medium-sized businesses that are registered with the state are exempt from the technical and financial eligibility requirements.
The lowest bidder will not be permitted to submit a bid if they have no experience or less than the minimum required experience. They will be permitted to carry out rooftop solar installations, provided that they match the lowest offer.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's Authorised List of Models and Manufacturers should be used to source the solar modules for the projects.
TSREDCO issued a request for proposals (RFP) last month for the installation and commissioning of 1.14 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems on public buildings.
