Tata Power Signs $4.25 Bn Deal with ADB for Key Energy Projects

Tata Power announced that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to explore financing worth $4.25 billion for various strategic energy projects in India. The agreement was signed in Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance India's power infrastructure and promote renewable energy.

The financing will support projects like the 966 MW solar-wind hybrid project, pumped hydro storage initiatives, as well as ongoing efforts in decarbonization and battery storage. The funding will also go toward strengthening the distribution networks.

Tata Power CEO Praveer Sinha expressed that this collaboration is key to driving transformative energy projects, contributing to the country’s clean energy goals. ADB Director General Suzanne Gaboury reiterated the bank's commitment to fostering sustainability and energy security in Asia and the Pacific.

With a diversified portfolio of over 15,000 MW, Tata Power is a leading player in both renewable and conventional energy generation, transmission, distribution, and storage solutions.
