Tata Power has announced a Rs 550 crore investment to develop solar and wind power capacities for Noida International Airport (NIA), marking a significant step in the airport’s transition to clean energy. The partnership will see Tata Power supply 10.8 MW of wind power and develop a 13 MW solar power capacity to meet the airport’s energy needs.

The power purchase agreements (PPAs) have been signed between Tata Power and NIA, with Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) managing the solar project and Tata Power Trading Company Ltd (TPTCL) supplying the wind energy. This collaboration supports the development of Net Zero Airports, in line with India's commitment to a greener future.

The first phase of Noida International Airport is expected to handle 12 million passengers annually, with the full development poised to accommodate 70 million passengers per year. CEO Christoph Schnellmann emphasized the airport’s vision to lead in sustainable airport operations by sourcing over half of its energy from renewable sources.
