In a groundbreaking collaboration, Tata Power and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) are launching several key initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainability and operational efficiency within the milk value chain. Central to this partnership is the solarisation of Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCSs), Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs), and Milk Chilling Centers, all powered by state-of-the-art solar microgrid technology.
The collaboration also prioritises the integration of dung-based biogas power generators into these microgrids, advancing sustainable energy practices in the dairy sector. "By integrating renewable energy solutions, we aim to boost operational efficiency across the dairy value chain and promote the use of green fuels," stated Shah, a representative of Tata Power.
One of the most notable aspects of this partnership is the ambitious plan to transform Mujkuva village in Anand district, Gujarat, into a carbon-neutral village. This endeavour aims to promote sustainability in rural economies and foster a greener future for the dairy industry.
Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, emphasised the transformative potential of this initiative: "Our partnership with the NDDB will revolutionise the dairy sector by integrating advanced renewable energy technologies, significantly reducing carbon emissions and enhancing operational efficiency."
