Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin Unveils Rs 5.41 billion Housing Project and Launches Instant Online Building Approval System.

In a significant boost to urban development, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated newly constructed flats worth 5.41 billion. The newly completed projects include 4,184 flats developed by the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board at a cost of Rs 5.41 billion, along with 1,459 flats designated for government servants. Additionally, commercial complexes worth Rs 3.83 billion, built by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, were also inaugurated at a ceremony held at the state secretariat.

In a groundbreaking move, Stalin introduced a simplified online approval system for building permits, the first of its kind in the state. This new single-window system allows for the sanction of building permissions based on self-certification for non-high-rise structures. Residential buildings on plots up to 2,500 square feet and built-up areas of up to 3,500 square feet will no longer require a completion certificate. This initiative aims to expedite the approval process, benefiting owners of small commercial complexes who previously faced lengthy delays for planning approvals.
