Schwing Stetter India, a leading manufacturer of concrete, construction, and mining equipment, has launched its Operator Skill Training Program, which aims to train over 10,000 young people in the use of concrete and construction machines.
The IESC, which is affiliated with the National Skill Development Corporation, has accredited the one-month intensive course. For the first training, a total of 53 students were chosen in two batches.
At the Centre of Excellence (CoE), students will learn how to operate three key products: boom pumps, self-loading concrete mixers, and excavators located within the company's global manufacturing hub in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, which opened in February 2021.
The COE is partnered with the IESC Skill Council and includes a cutting-edge, modernised training centre that will provide skilling to youth from surrounding districts.
Individuals will be able to approach heavy machinery in the right way and become highly skilled operators as a result of the exclusive training programme. Candidates can look for a rewarding career in segments such as infrastructure, construction, and ready-mix concrete producing companies after completing this program's training and certification, according to the company.
Schwing Stetter will also share the resumes of passed out candidates with these companies in the hopes of finding employment.
Women will be included in upcoming programmes, and the company is working hard to create a women-first environment in its Cheyyar complex.
