Sahasra Electronics, based in Noida, is gearing up to allocate approximately Rs 3.5 billion over the next three years to bolster its manufacturing efforts as part of the 'Make in India' initiative.
The company's chairman, Amrit Manwani, revealed plans to establish a semiconductor packaging facility, making Sahasra one of the pioneering Indian firms to engage in semiconductor packaging during the current fiscal year.
Manwani emphasised the critical role of packaging in semiconductor manufacturing and design, highlighting its significance in safeguarding wafers whether composed of plastic, metal, glass, or ceramic from chemical contamination, as well as protecting them from potential damage caused by light, impact, or heat.
