Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the Railway Minister had assured him that the Ministry was prepared to undertake railway projects worth Rs 720 billion in the state.

During a meeting, he instructed officials to expedite and finalise all ongoing railway project works in the state as quickly as possible.

The Chief Minister led a discussion with officials from both the Railway Ministry and the state government regarding land acquisition and the current status of railway line projects, emphasising the need to assess progress on all ongoing works.

Inquiring about the reasons for delays in certain projects, the Chief Minister provided various suggestions for their prompt completion.

He expressed concern that the lack of progress in all projects was due to policies implemented by the previous government and directed officials to take immediate action to ensure all projects were completed on time. He also stated that necessary measures would be taken to address issues related to land acquisition.

To facilitate the early completion of projects and resolve land acquisition challenges, the Chief Minister decided to establish a task force comprising officials from the Railway, Revenue, and Roads and Buildings (R&B) departments.

He specifically requested that the Kotipalli-Narsapur railway line be completed within four months. Additionally, he approved the immediate release of Rs 200 million for acquiring 11 acres along the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line and instructed officials to promptly initiate the Sattupalli-Kovvur line project following the completion of land acquisition.

Chandrababu Naidu believed that a thorough discussion was necessary before making a decision regarding the Kadapa-Bengaluru railway line, as changes had been made to its alignment. He emphasized that all ongoing railway project works should be completed within three years, while doubling works should be finished in four years. He also suggested that better results could be achieved by interlinking the road, rail, and air networks to complete the project works efficiently.
