PM Modi paves way for 100% rail electrification

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Indian Railways is making significant strides towards achieving 100% electrification of all rail lines in the coming months. He made this statement while inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for multiple development projects valued at over Rs 80 billion in Nizamabad, Telangana.

During the event, Modi inaugurated the first 800 MW unit of phase 1 of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project by NTPC in Peddapalli district. He emphasised the plant's modernity and highlighted its crucial role in benefiting Telangana by providing low-cost power, ultimately fostering economic growth in the state.

Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated several rail projects to the nation, including the new line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet, as well as the electrification projects between Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool. He also noted the implementation of Ayushman Bharat, the world's largest health insurance scheme, in India.
