The elevated stretch of the 21.26-km Pink Line, connecting Kalena Agrahara (Gottigere) to Nagawara, is on track to meet its December 2025 launch target. With construction moving at a steady pace, the 7.5-km section from Tavarekere to Kalena Agrahara is progressing smoothly.
BEML Limited, which is contracted to supply 53 train sets for the line, will deliver the first train by mid-2024. By July, the second train set will be handed over, with additional deliveries scheduled for each subsequent month, ensuring 9 to 10 train sets by the launch date.
The stations included in this stretch are Tavarekere, Jayadeva Interchange, J P Nagar IVth Phase, IIMB, Hulimavu, and Kalena Agrahara. Work at these stations is advancing rapidly, with the viaduct fully constructed and 70% of the track already laid. Architectural work on four of the stations is underway, while the JP Nagar station, which will extend into Metro Phase-3, is expected to be ready by March 2025.
As the project nears completion, officials are optimistic that the stretch will be ready to serve passengers by the target date, marking a major milestone in Bangalore's metro expansion.
