Northeast Frontier Railway issues 5.7 MW rooftop solar projects bids

The Lumding Division of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has issued three tenders for the installation of grid-connected rooftop solar systems on service, residential, and station buildings, totalling 5.765 MW of capacity. Bids must be submitted by December 5, 2024.

The scope of work involves the supply, assembly, installation, and commissioning of solar power plants with capacities ranging from 10 kW to 30 kW for service buildings, 3 kW for residential buildings, and 10 kW to 60 kW for station buildings. All installations must be completed within 180 days.

The tender details are as follows: - Service buildings: Rs 20.9 million, for 355 kW with an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs 254,600. - Residential buildings: Rs 142.4 million, for 2.46 MW with an EMD of Rs 862,400. - Station buildings: Rs 173 million, for 2.95 MW with an EMD of Rs 1.01 million.

The project will include Mono PERC half-cut solar panels, solar power conditioning units, GI module mounting structures, and systems for lightning protection and earthing. The scope also covers the provision of connecting wires, MCBs, civil works, electrical load distribution systems, transportation, and real-time monitoring systems.

Bidders must have completed similar projects in the last seven years, with specific experience requirements: - Three works, each valued at 30% of the advertised tender value. - Two works, each valued at 40% of the tender value. - One work, valued at 60% of the tender value.

Bidders must also meet certain financial criteria and ensure they are not blacklisted by any government department. For composite works, separate completed projects for each component can be considered for eligibility.

In addition, the North Eastern Railway is seeking bids for 1.94 MW of rooftop solar projects under Phase II in the Lucknow Division, and recently invited tenders for a 1.15 MW solar installation at railway stations. (Mercom)
