National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has proposed three potential routes to integrate Greater Noida and Greater Noida West with the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), aiming to enhance connectivity between these areas and the upcoming Jewar Airport. The selected route will seamlessly link with the proposed RRTS from the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, extending from Siddharth Vihar in Ghaziabad to the airport via Char Murti Chowk (Gaur Chowk) in Greater Noida West.
Following a survey of the three proposed routes, N G Ravi Kumar, the CEO of Greater Noida Authority, has initiated a joint team comprising officials from the authority and NCRTC to select one route within a week.
The alternative routes suggested during recent discussions are as follows:
Route via Noida Airport: Proposed from Char Murti Chowk on a 130-meter wide road to Noida Airport via the authority office and Pari Chowk.
Route via Greater Noida West: Suggested to traverse a 60-meter road from Greater Noida West.
Route via Knowledge Park-5, Surajpur, and Kasna: Proposed from Char Murti Chowk to Noida Airport via Knowledge Park-5, Surajpur, and Kasna.
Both the Greater Noida Authority and NCRTC will play pivotal roles in the finalization process. The authority will present a utility report on the route, while NCRTC will prepare a detailed route report for submission.
The significance of selecting the right route cannot be overstated, as it holds the potential to alleviate traffic and congestion issues for the residents of Greater Noida. The RRTS, operating at speeds three times faster than Metro trains with a maximum operational speed of 160 km/hour, promises efficient transportation once operational.
It's worth noting that among the eight identified RRTS corridors in the National Capital Region (NCR), three corridors, including Delhi ? Ghaziabad ? Meerut, Delhi ? Gurugram ? SNB ? Alwar, and Delhi ? Panipat, are prioritized for implementation in Phase-I, highlighting the importance of this transportation network for the region's development and connectivity.
The final decision on the route is eagerly awaited by stakeholders, as it marks a significant step towards realizing enhanced connectivity and efficient transportation solutions for Greater Noida and Greater Noida West.
