The National Capital Region (NCR) Transport Corporation said on Monday that passengers on the Namo Bharat train would soon have access to meal, retail, and banking options at the stops. According to a statement issued by the transport authority, these facilities will be located within the station grounds, thoughtfully positioned close to entry and departure points, with the goal of improving passenger convenience.
The provision of these amenities within the station grounds is anticipated to significantly improve the passenger experience, the statement said, in light of the recent milestone of one million passengers carried by Namo Bharat trains and the rising number of daily commuters. The NCRTC revealed plans for passengers to take advantage of a variety of facilities, including eating options, retail stores, food outlets, and banking services, in addition to the quick and pleasant travel that Namo Bharat trains offer. The NCRTC has released invitations for bids to acquire commercial premises at stations throughout the operating route. Bids are invited for the first phase, which ends on June 4 and comprises spaces at Sahibabad, Guldhar, and Duhai stations. The NCRTC website has access to bid papers. Along the 34-Km stretch between Sahibabad and Modi Nagar North, Namo Bharat train services are now available at eight stops. There are soon plans to open commercial areas at further stations in this segment. Information on the business areas that are accessible at the Sahibabad, Guldhar, and Duhai stations was given, emphasising the opportunities for various commercial establishments such as restaurants, food outlets, shopping venues, banks, and offices. The 34 Kmoperating segment of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor is planned to be extended to the Meerut South station, making the whole operated section length 42 Km . On the remaining 82 km of the line, construction is moving quickly. By June 2025, the goal is to have the Namo Bharat trains operating throughout the line. It is anticipated that the 34 km operational segment of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor will shortly be extended to the station at Meerut South, making the 42 km operating section length. The 82 km long corridor is now undergoing fast development on the portions that are not yet complete. By June 2025, the goal is to have the Namo Bharat trains operating across the whole line.
