MIA Construction Wins Bhubaneswar Metro Depot Contract

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded MIA Construction Pvt. Ltd. the civil works contract for the Phulapokhari Depot and Workshop of Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1. This significant contract involves the construction of the depot, workshop, and Operations Control Centre buildings on a sprawling 16-hectare site.

The scope of work includes essential infrastructure elements such as plumbing, drainage, and road development. MIA's winning bid of Rs 797.5 million was notably lower than DMRC's estimated cost of Rs 1.04 billion , demonstrating the company's competitive edge and cost-effectiveness.

The Phulapokhari Depot is a critical component of the Bhubaneswar Metro's ambitious 26 km Line-1 project. The depot will serve as the main hub for maintenance and operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of the metro line. The project is slated for completion within 36 months, marking a significant milestone in Bhubaneswar's urban transportation development.
