MahaRERA Mandates Quality Assurance Submission by Developers

01 Aug 2024

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has introduced a new rule mandating that developers submit quality assurance certificates for all ongoing and new projects. This move aims to improve construction quality and provide greater transparency to homebuyers. The new rule is expected to standardise construction processes and ensure that projects meet safety and quality standards.

Developers are now required to submit these certificates at various stages of construction, detailing the materials used and the techniques followed to adhere to safety norms. MahaRERA will review the submissions, which will also be available to homebuyers for verification. The authority believes that this step will not only enhance trust between developers and buyers but also reduce disputes over construction quality.

The new regulation is seen as a significant step toward safeguarding buyers' interests and promoting accountability in the real estate sector.
