Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, presented the state budget, which was founded on the 'Panchamrut' idea and focused on farmers, women, young people, employment, and the environment. One of the measures calls for the construction of 10 lakh affordable homes over the next three years and the opening of 50 kilometres of Metro lines in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region this year.
In the state Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, Fadnavis introduced the Economic Survey of Maharashtra 2022–23. The survey predicts that the state's GDP will grow at 6.8% in 2022–2023 compared to the Indian economy's 7%. In contrast, in 2021–2022 the state economy grew by 9.1%.
