Juniper Green Signs Pacts for 480 MW Solar-Wind Projects

01 Jul 2024

Juniper Green Energy has secured agreements to supply 480 MW of power from its solar-wind hybrid projects. This significant development is part of the company's strategy to enhance renewable energy capacity and provide sustainable power solutions.

The agreements involve long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with various corporate and industrial clients, underscoring the growing demand for green energy among businesses. The solar-wind hybrid projects, combining the benefits of both renewable sources, are designed to provide reliable and efficient power supply.

These hybrid projects are strategically located in high-wind and high-sunlight regions, optimising energy generation throughout the year. By integrating solar and wind power, Juniper Green aims to mitigate the intermittency issues associated with individual renewable sources, ensuring a more stable and continuous power output.

Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Juniper Green Energy, expressed optimism about the future of renewable energy in India. He emphasised that the company's focus on hybrid projects aligns with the national goal of increasing the share of renewables in the energy mix. Mittal highlighted that these projects not only contribute to reducing carbon emissions but also offer cost-effective power solutions to industrial clients.

The 480 MW capacity will be rolled out in phases, with the first phase expected to be operational by the end of next year. This initiative is set to play a crucial role in meeting India's renewable energy targets and supporting the country's transition to a greener economy.

Juniper Green's commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio through innovative projects demonstrates its leadership in the sector and its dedication to fostering a sustainable energy future.
