The metro rail in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is set to commence its commercial operations in the next five months, as announced by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He inaugurated the trial process of the first phase of the metro rail, which costs Rs 75 billion. Chouhan mentioned that the metro network would soon be extended to the Pithampur industrial area and Ujjain. In Bhopal, a trial run is scheduled for today. The metro track, spanning from Subhash Nagar to Rani Kamlapati stations, has been laid, and a safety trial run has been conducted on this route. According to Metro Rail Project Managing Director Manish Singh, the metro trains operating in Madhya Pradesh will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities. Alstom Transport India has manufactured a total of 81 coaches, with 27 trains of three coaches each for Bhopal and 25 trains of three coaches each for Indore. These trains are designed to accommodate 50 passengers seated and have space for 300 standing passengers. Notably, the first train for the Bhopal-Indore metro project was delivered by the company in August.
