Hild Electric, which manufactures and deploys electrolysers, announced it has been selected as the alkaline electrolyser technology provider of NTPC Renewable Energy (REL), the renewable energy subsidiary of NTPC, the country's largest power utility with 73 GW installed generation capacity.

The Chennai-based company said in a statement it would deploy stacks combined with purifiers and separators to provide a dynamic and efficient solution that can integrate with renewable energy resources and produce green hydrogen.

Under the agreement, the solution will be deployed for up to 600 MW capacities across a diverse range of industrial applications, including ammonia, transportation, power etc. These are expected to support NTPC’s green hydrogen ambition of reaching at least 150 kTPA of Green Hydrogen production by 2032.

“Partnering with NTPC REL as their preferred technology provider on what is the largest alkaline electrolyser deal in India is an incredible breakthrough,” the company said, adding that NTPC’s forward-thinking approach has enabled it to be first amongst its peers to adopt innovative clean technologies.

Hild Electric is an electrolyser manufacturing company providing electrochemical products with applications for sustainable energy in industrial, transportation, and energy projects. The company operates an alkaline electrolyser manufacturing plant at Chennai.
