HCL Technologies, an IT services company, has recently entered into a partnership with UPES Dehradun in Uttarakhand. The collaboration aims to jointly work on innovative solutions for the oil and gas sector, emphasising sustainability. As part of this initiative, students and research scholars from UPES Dehradun will have the opportunity to intern with HCL Tech. Successful completion of the internship may lead to employment offers within HCL Tech's oil and gas consulting team.
The collaboration seeks to enhance HCL Tech's proficiency in developing digital solutions and utilising artificial intelligence for hydrocarbon exploration and production. This effort is expected to bring substantial value to companies operating in the oil and gas industry.
Ajay Bahl, Corporate Vice President at HCL Tech, expressed that this strategic initiative is geared towards introducing solutions that advocate sustainability, innovation, value optimisation, and the prioritisation of low-carbon alternatives within the oil and gas sector.
The alliance will concentrate on developing cutting-edge solutions for the oil and gas industry, incorporating technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), GenAI, Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0, data engineering, and cloud computing, as stated by Bahl.
