On Monday, Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel laid the foundation and inaugurated the housing and development projects of Rs 271 crore in Ahmedabad city.
Patel told the media that the Gujarat Government is committed to making the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi come true, and has taken result-oriented steps for the same. At the inauguration of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) held in Odhav, Indiranagar, the Chief Minister dedicated development projects of Rs 271 crore to the city of Ahmedabad. He stated that the government has plans to provide permanent housing to the people residing in the slums of the city. Patel also inaugurated housing projects of Rs 179 crore, heritage projects of Rs 1 crore, and water supply projects of Rs 47 crore. Under the housing projects inaugurated by Patel 1,610 houses along with 52 shops are dedicated to the people. He added that food, clothing, and housing are the common man’s basic needs and the Gujarat Government is committed to providing these. The state government is curating several plans for the needs of the poor and the middle class. While referring to the pro-poor approach of the central and state governments, he added that PM Modi was concerned that no poor person should go hungry in the difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic and free food was provided to the poor.
