The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) is set to develop a comprehensive 15-year master plan and detailed project report (DPR) for water, sewer, and stormwater drains. A consultant will be engaged to assess the current systems, predict future requirements, and align with GNIDA’s master plans for 2021 and 2041. The Authority aims to modernize Greater Noida’s utilities to cater to the growing demand in the residential, industrial, and commercial sectors.
The project aims to upgrade the existing systems for water supply, sewerage, and drainage, and introduce 24x7 water supply, water auditing, GIS mapping, and the establishment of operation and management systems.
GNIDA has issued a tender inviting consultancy firms with expertise in large-scale urban infrastructure projects. The selection will be based on a quality-cost-based selection (QCBS) model, with 70 per cent weightage on technical expertise and 30 per cent on financial aspects. A pre-bid conference will be held on Nov 14, followed by the deadline for bid submissions on Nov 28. Technical bids will be opened on Dec 2, and financial bids will be evaluated for qualifying bidders.
A GNIDA official stated that the master plan and DPR are intended to lay the foundation for a resilient and sustainable infrastructure system that will address Greater Noida’s needs until 2041 and beyond.
The consultant will review all existing water sources, storage facilities, and distribution networks in the city. This will involve data verification, on-site assessments, and filling in data gaps to create a complete understanding of the network from sources to end-users. The consultant will evaluate the Ganga water treatment plant and current disinfection methods, forecast demand for 2041, and design a water supply scheme for underserved areas.
The consultant’s work will be carried out in two stages. Stage I will involve a thorough analysis of the existing infrastructure, focusing on identifying immediate improvements and preparing a DPR with a five-year action plan. Stage II will include detailed budget estimates and designs, enabling phased implementation based on Stage I findings. These stages will help GNIDA develop a modern, efficient infrastructure that can support the growing population of Greater Noida.
