Godrej & Boyce's business unit, Godrej Electricals & Electronics, announced that they have successfully commissioned a 12.5 MWp rooftop solar project for a textile facility in Madhya Pradesh. According to the company, this solar facility, one of the largest in India and the first in the state, has been set up to cover 1 million square feet of large manufacturing sheds. The project aims to allow the textile facility to utilize green energy, leading to an estimated annual saving of 17 million kWh of power.
In a statement, Godrej Electricals & Electronics mentioned that they are undertaking similar projects across various industries such as cement, textile, automobile, and pharmaceuticals. They highlighted that India is now the third-largest solar power generator globally, with the renewable energy sector experiencing significant growth and momentum. Understanding the diverse energy requirements and sustainability goals of their clients, the company emphasized its commitment to expanding innovative and customized solar rooftop solutions.
