GHMC Plans Flyover Project in Jubilee Hills

01 Jul 2024

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is set to launch an ambitious project aimed at improving traffic flow around the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy (KBR) Park in Jubilee Hills. The project, with an estimated cost of INR 586 crore, involves the construction of six flyovers and underpasses at key locations, including near KBR Park, Road No. 45 Film Nagar Junction, and Banjara Hills Road No. 10.

GHMC will soon issue a tender inviting architectural design firms to develop a comprehensive plan, showcasing the proposed flyovers and underpasses through detailed 3D models. Given the eco-sensitive nature of the area, the authorities are committed to minimizing tree-cutting during the construction process.

In addition to creating the designs, the selected consultant will conduct a thorough study of the current conditions at the six junctions, focusing on traffic congestion, design specifications, and the anticipated impact of the new infrastructure on traffic flow. This study is expected to be completed within 15 days of the agreement.

This project underscores GHMC?s dedication to enhancing traffic management and ensuring smoother transit around KBR Park, ultimately benefiting the residents and commuters in Jubilee Hills.
