Solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors and operation and maintenance (O&M) service providers have been notified by the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).
The winning bidders would be appointed for a three-year term. No earnest money deposit is required of prospective bidders. Bidders in Category A should have designed, engineered, supplied, installed, tested, and commissioned grid-connected solar projects with a total installed capacity of 75 MW (AC) or more on a lump-sum turnkey or EPC basis in the previous seven years. One project must have a capacity of over 30 MW (AC) at a single location and be operational for at least six months. Bidders must also have completed O&M for at least one grid-connected solar project with a capacity of over 10 MW (AC) for at least one year in the previous seven years. Bidders must also have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 3 billion in the previous three financial years, as well as a minimum working capital of Rs 600 million. If the bidder's working capital is negative or insufficient, they must submit a letter from their bank confirming the availability of a line of credit for Rs 600 million or more. Bidders must have designed, engineered, supplied, installed, tested, and commissioned at least 125 MW (AC) of grid-connected solar projects on a lump-sum turnkey or EPC basis in the previous seven years. One project must have a capacity of over 50 MW (AC) at a single location and be operational for at least six months. Bidders must also have completed O&M of at least one grid-connected solar project with a capacity of over 20 MW for at least one year in the previous seven years. The deadline for bid submission is 5th October 2021. GAIL issued a request for expressions of interest (EoI) in July 2021 for the acquisition of operational solar park projects. GAIL was looking into renewable energy opportunities with a 1 GW capacity target. GAIL had also issued a request for proposals for the turnkey installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected rooftop solar projects with a total capacity of 2.64 MW (DC) at its facility in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya district.
