The Delhi government has sanctioned the upgradation and strengthening of a 4.5 km section of the Ring Road extending from Ashram to the Bhairon Marg T-point, according to Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Atishi. Officials familiar with the project mentioned that work would commence once a tender is finalized, and it is expected to take several months. This development is likely to cause significant traffic congestion, as this section of the Ring Road is heavily frequented by tens of thousands of commuters daily.

The anticipated cost of the project has not been disclosed yet.

At a press conference, Atishi detailed that the project aligns with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's vision to enhance the commuting experience in Delhi and improve connectivity across different areas. She explained that the government's goal is to create a world-class and safe transport network in the city, adhering to international standards. The strengthening of the Ring Road, which is crucial for traffic flow in Delhi and connects various parts of the city, is a key part of this initiative to make daily commutes more comfortable for residents.

The minister instructed PWD officials to ensure that all safety, security, and quality standards are strictly followed during the project, with the aim of minimizing any inconvenience to commuters.
