Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that infrastructure projects worth Rs 8 trillion are presently in various stages of implementation in Maharashtra, marking the highest figure among all states. He also mentioned that Maharashtra ranks as the top state in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and stands as one of the major contributors to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Shinde pledged to eradicate potholes from Mumbai roads within the upcoming two years. During the dedication ceremony of the newly-constructed building of the civic-run Nair Hospital's Dental College in Mumbai Central, he emphasized that infrastructure development remains the primary focus of his government.
Addressing the gathering, the CM remarked, "Maharashtra currently hosts the maximum number of infrastructure projects under implementation, with projects worth 8 trillion in progress within the state." He further highlighted that Maharashtra serves as a favoured destination for numerous industries, with some businesses showing interest in the health sector due to the state's commendable infrastructure, connectivity, and promising growth prospects.
Shinde informed that a 337 km long metro network will soon be operational in Mumbai, aiming to alleviate congestion within the city and reduce the number of cars on the roads by 50 lakh to 60 lakh.
Taking a veiled dig at his predecessor and political rival, Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray, Shinde made a pointed remark, indirectly stating, "Certain individuals possess different personas for private and public displays."
