The Bombay High Court allowed the Godrej group, the city's largest private landowner, to challenge the state's compensation of Rs. 2.64 billion for acquiring 10 ha of land in Vikhroli from the group for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train project. The Maharashtra government set a compensation of Rs 2.64 billion earlier this month to acquire Godrej's land for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor project. The conglomerate is attempting to have the compensation award overturned because it is out of time. Godrej claims that the last hearing was in July 2020, and that 26 months have passed.
