Bullet Train: 190 km viaduct and 321 km of pier completed

For the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has finished building 321 km of piers and 190 km of viaducts. Furthermore, eight of the twenty-four river bridges have had their bridge construction finished. When describing the project, NHSRCL representatives said that all civil contracts had been given out across Gujarat and Maharashtra. They affirmed that all land acquisitions in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DNH) have been finished.

Besides the civil works, all depot and electrical contracts have also been awarded. The officials said that two state-of-the-art track slab manufacturing facilities in Surat and Anand are fully functional to support the track system.

The completion of the first mountain tunnel, spanning 350 meters near Zaroli Village in Valsad, was announced. The officials said that three steel bridges, measuring 70 meters, 100 meters, and 130 meters, have also been completed in Surat, Anand, and Vadodara, respectively.

Bridge works on eight out of the total 24 river bridges along the Bullet Train corridor, including those on the Par, Purna, Mindhola, Ambika, Auranga, Venganiya, Mohar, and Dhadhar rivers, have also been completed. The work on other major rivers, such as the Narmada, Tapti, Mahi, and Sabarmati, is in progress.

A 7 km undersea rail tunnel in Maharashtra is being worked on as part of a 21 km tunnel that would connect BKC and Shilphata. In Gujarat, 338 km of the 352 km of viaduct have had their foundations built, while 5,549 girders totaling 222 km have been cast. All eight Bullet Train Stations?Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Anand, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati?have completed their foundation construction.

Earthwork at the Sabarmati Depot is complete, and work is underway to lay the foundation for overhead equipment as well as construct the administrative structure and a number of buildings and workshops, according to NHSRCL officials.
