In India, the logistics sector is the third-most CO2 emitting sector, with about 14 per cent share of emissions. Within logistics, heavy trucking contributes to 45 per cent of total CO2 emissions.

Zero-emission trucks (LNG or battery-operated) have the potential to cut down at least 2.8-3.8 gigatons of CO2 emissions between the present day to 2050. A single LNG truck, covering an average 80,000 km in a year, can significantly cut down emissions, showcasing the tangible benefits of this green transportation solution.

Ather Energy, one of India’s foremost electric motorcycle brands, has expanded its adoption of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of industry software to help it reduce its design and engineering cycle time, improve product quality and achieve faster time to market. Kubota's next-generation of its largest compact excavator, the 8.4-metric-tonne KX080-5 comes with a slew of new features. Kubota gave the

cab of the fifth-generation excavator a new interior design and convenient functions. Some new features are: Expanded glass area enables operators to monitor both edges of the dozer blade and the bucket can be viewed through the skylight above when unloading. LED work lights with turn-off delay ensure that the lights shut off within 30 seconds to 2 minutes after the engine stops so the operator can exit the cab safely. An automatic regeneration system burns leftover soot in the diesel particulate filter’s muffler so you don’t have to stop work to clean the filter.

Maruti with the help of its Japanese parent company, Suzuki, is planning to develop electric air copters. The electric air copters would be larger than drones but smaller than traditional helicopters, with the capacity to transport at least three passengers, including the pilot. To succeed in India, the air copters must be affordable. With a take-off weight of 1.4 tonnes, the air copter would be nearly half the weight of a conventional helicopter so it can use building rooftops for take-off and landing.
