01 Sep 2024

The Bengaluru Metro, in collaboration with the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), has initiated Oscillation and EBD trials on the Reach 5 line stretch between Bommanahalli and RV Road. These trials, expected to last approximately 12-14 days, are designed to assess the stability and safety of the line before the start of metro operations.

Bengaluru Metro provided an update on Twitter, emphasizing the importance of these tests. RDSO officials are conducting the trials as part of a crucial technical evaluation process, and the results will be compiled into a report for the Railway Board. This report will be instrumental in obtaining the necessary technical approvals for the operational clearance of the new metro stretch.

According to Bengaluru Metro’s tweet, Oscillation and EBD trials by RDSO officials began on the Reach 5 line stretch and are scheduled to continue for about 12-14 days. The report from these trials will be submitted to the Railway Board for the next step in securing technical sanction.

These trials are essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the metro line, which is expected to significantly improve travel for Bengaluru commuters once completed.
