Bechtel Engineering and Construction India have bagged a contract from Tata Projects to support the delivery of the new Noida International Airport in Uttar Pradesh.
Tata Projects’ work scope comprises the construction of the terminal, runways, airside infrastructure roads, landside facilities, utilities, and other ancillary buildings. Recently, it secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a unit of Zurich Airport International. Tata Projects managing director and CEO Vinayak Pai told the media that the company is happy to have Bechtel as an associate to support and provide support to Tata’s team and assist in the delivery of this nationally-significant new airport. The company shall deploy the latest technologies in the construction of India’s first net-zero emissions airport building while fulfilling the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. Noida Airport has been conceptualised as a modern airport incorporating Indian culture and hospitality with Swiss technology. Once finished, the new airport is launched to have an annual passenger handling capacity of 12 million by 2024. Bechtel India offices manager Avijit Ray said the company is looking forward to supporting the construction of this exciting and ambitious airport that will cater to millions of passengers, delivering comfort and efficiency predicted of an international gateway. It is the first association with an airport in India. daa named Bechtel as an integrated delivery partner for the Dublin Airport (DUB) capital investment programme last year.
