Atmakur town will be developed with Rs 128 million

Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy mentioned that he would strive to restore the former glory of Atmakur municipality by developing it in all aspects. While addressing the media after reviewing various issues in Atmakur municipality on Sunday, the Minister recalled that it was his initiative that led to the upgrading of Atmakur panchayat to a municipality when he was a Minister 10 years ago. He revealed that there were plans to develop Atmakur town with Rs 128 million, in addition to a drinking water scheme worth Rs 904 million using Amruth (Central government) funds, and Rs 318 million for the construction of a Sewage Treatment Plant.

The Minister disclosed that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu would lay the foundation for the proposed works. He also said that plans were in place to establish a Gurukul Patasala for Backward Classes soon, with classes from 5th to 8th standard being conducted for 160 students in the current academic year on the second floor of the AP Gurukul Patasala building in Atmakur town. The Minister further informed that it was proposed to construct a walking track along with dividers and central lighting from Anjayaneya Swamy temple to Atmakur town for the benefit of the public. Later, the Minister inspected the mineral water plant and laboratory in the town and directed officials to ensure the supply of clean drinking water.
