According to top officials, Danfoss' recent acquisition of German compressor manufacturer Bock GmbH will provide a huge opportunity in mobile air-conditioning for the latter's Indian subsidiary.
"Bock manufactures semi-hermetic compressors that use natural refrigerants like CO2. "These are game changers because they have less impact on climate change and provide higher efficiencies in storing food for longer periods of time," said Danfoss India president Ravichandran Purushothaman.
"Bock has a facility in Bengaluru Electronics City and its products are used widely in transport air-conditioning such as bus, rail, or trucks, and this will fill the gap for us," he said, stating that the acquisition bode well for Danfoss as India plans to roll out several Vande Bharat trains over the next two years.
According to Danfoss President and CEO Kim Fausing, Bock was acquired on March 1 and will be integrated into Danfoss as a business division.
Danfoss India, according to Ravichandran, hopes to double its turnover to 5,000 crore by 2025 and be ranked among the top five countries in the group. Fausing was in town to celebrate Danfoss India's Silver Jubilee.
