Indian Railways board approves 76 lifts at major ECR stations

The Railway Board had sanctioned 76 lifts for installation at all the major stations falling under the East Central Railway (ECR).

According to the chief public relations officer (CPRO) of ECR, Birendra Kumar, Patna Junction will have four lifts seeing the large flow of passengers.

He said that though the civil work is yet to start at the Patna Junction, railways have completed the installation of one lift at the Rajendra Nagar Terminal, and civil work for the other three goes on satisfactorily there.

He added that the Danapur railway division had been sanctioned two lifts, and its civil work is yet to begin.

The Ara Junction and Buxar will have two lifts each to be installed shortly. It has already completed installing two lifts at the Patliputra Junction.

According to CPRO, Mokama and Gaya Junction will have two and four lifts each.

While one has been made functional at Gaya Junction, work for the installation of three more is in progress.

The Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction and Sasaram stations have three lifts each to be sanctioned.
