The Haryana government has announced the 'Assistance for Waste Management Scheme' for the Industrial Sector under which incentives will be rendered to the industries in the state to promote them to conduct waste management activities involving transportation, collection, treatment, and waste disposal which is not just environmentally, socially, and financially sustainable but is also economically viable.
An official spokesperson of the Industries and Commerce Department told the media that the Scheme shall begin with effect from January 1, 2021, and will remain in operation for five years. The assistance will be allowed on the acquisition of land, machinery and equipment on or after January 1, 2021, and before December 31, 2025. He said that under the Assistance for Waste Management Scheme, financial assistance of 50% of project value (land and building subject to a maximum of 25% of Project cost) involving machinery and equipment of Rs 50 crore will be rendered to promote installing electronic waste management and e-waste recovery projects for industries working in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector. The spokesperson said that the New Ultra-Mega Projects, Mega Projects, Large Industries, Micro, Small and Medium enterprises working in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector anywhere in the State shall only be rendered financial support by way of reimbursement of cost incurred.
