Urban planners to soon be employed in Uttar Pradesh for development

As there appears to be a severe shortage of planners at the moment, the state will shortly start the process of hiring new ones.

Only 67 planners currently work for the three government ministries and agencies responsible for development and planning, compared to the 1,500 needed.

The UP housing board (Awas Vikas Parishad), 29 development authorities (including the Prayagraj Development Authority, Kanpur Development Authority, and Lucknow Development Authority), and four special area development authorities are all under the control of the housing and urban planning department (Shaktinagar, Kapilvastu, Chitrakoot and Kushinagar).

The industrial development authorities' activities are governed by the industries department. The third is the urban development department, which offers services to 763 urban local bodies' residents.
