Uttar Pradesh had achieved 50% of its Har Ghar Jal scheme, which aimed to provide clean drinking water to rural families. It was reported that tap connections had been provided to approximately 1.3 crore families in rural areas, benefiting around 70.9 million people. It was planned that a total of Rs 20.6 million rural families would receive clean water by 2024 under the Har Ghar Jal scheme.

The achievement of Uttar Pradesh was acknowledged by the Central government, which congratulated the Yogi government. Swatantra Dev Singh, the Jal Shakti minister, and Anurag Srivastava, the principal secretary of Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply department, extended their congratulations to the officials, engineers, and staff involved in the implementation of the scheme. The Har Ghar Jal scheme was implemented in remote areas across nine districts in the Bundelkhand and Vindhyan regions. In the Bundelkhand region, seven districts witnessed over 11 lakh families receiving clean water supply. Among these districts, Mahoba stood out with the highest number of new tap connections. In fact, 91.8% of rural families in Mahoba now have access to clean water. In the Vindhyan region, the scheme covered more than four lakh rural families.
