Rs 8.36 Bn Approved for Belagavi Under Amrit 2.0 Scheme

The Union Urban Development Ministry has approved Rs 8.36 billion under the Amrit 2.0 scheme for 32 urban areas within the Belagavi division of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board. The financial distribution includes 50 per cent from the central government, 40 per cent from the state government, and 10 per cent from public contributions.

Additionally, Rs 1.65 billion has been allocated to ensure continuous water supply, particularly benefiting the five twin towns of Mudalagi, Naganur, Kalloli, Arabhavi, and Ghataprabha. Several projects under this scheme are already in progress, while the remaining ones are set to commence soon.

The initiative has been facilitated through the combined efforts of the Union Urban Affairs Ministry and the Karnataka State Urban Development Department, ensuring the effective allocation and execution of funds to enhance urban infrastructure in the region.
