HUL to Acquire 14.3% Stake in Lucro Plastecycle to Boost Circularity

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has approved the acquisition of a 14.3% stake in Lucro Plastecycle, a leading player in recycled flexible plastics, as part of its sustainability strategy. The investment amount remains undisclosed.

Lucro specialises in waste management, recycling, and product manufacturing, contributing to a circular plastics economy. HUL’s investment aligns with its commitment to scaling up the use of recycled flexible content in packaging and supports the government’s zero-plastic-waste vision.

HUL stated that this move will increase the availability of recycled flexible plastic, help businesses transition to sustainable packaging, and address challenges associated with hard-to-recycle plastics.
